Holden T. Maecker, Course Director
Dr. Maecker received a BS in Microbiology from Purdue University and a PhD in Cancer Biology from Stanford University. He did postdoctoral work with Ronald and Shoshana Levy at Stanford, and was an Assistant Professor of Biology at Loyola University Chicago, as well as a Senior Scientist at BD Biosciences, San Jose, CA. He is currently a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, and Director of the Human Immune Monitoring Center, at Stanford University. His research focuses on measuring immune competence, as well as how specific cellular immune responses correlate with immune protection.
Maria Jaimes, PhD, Course Faculty
Dr. Maria Jaimes, PhD, is Vice President of Scientific Commercialization at Cytek Biosciences, where she focuses on advancing and translating flow cytometry technologies for research applications. She earned her medical degree from the Universidad Javeriana and completed postdoctoral training in Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University, where she studied immune responses to viral infections.
Dr. Jaimes has extensive experience in flow cytometry development and standardization, having previously held R&D roles at BD Biosciences before joining Cytek in 2015. At Cytek, she was part of the team that helped develop the Aurora full spectrum cytometer and has led global scientific and technical application support efforts.
Caroline Duault, PhD, Course Faculty
Dr. Caroline Duault, PharmD, PhD, is a scientist at Stanford University focused on immunology and advanced flow cytometry analysis. She specializes in immune profiling, data quality control, and multiparameter cytometry approaches used in translational immunology research.
She earned her PharmD and PhD in biomedical sciences in France and completed advanced research training in immunology before joining Stanford, where she contributes to the development and application of high-dimensional immune analysis tools for research and clinical studies.
