The C. Garrison Fathman Fellows Fund enables trainees and fellows to attend the FOCIS Annual Meeting and educational courses and participate in exchange programs. FOCIS is known worldwide for its outstanding immunology education. Award recipients are eligible to receive financial support to cover some of their expenses related to their participation.
Together with FOCIS, Clinical Immunology provides this award to a colleague in training (student or fellow) who is the presenting author of a FOCIS Annual Meeting abstract. Award recipients are eligible to receive financial support to cover some of their expenses related to their participation.
This award recognizes trainees affiliated with an FCE who are FOCIS members and submit an abstract to the FOCIS Annual Meeting. FCE Directors nominate their trainees for this award, and the FCE Committee selects award recipients on a competitive basis. Award recipients attend the FCE Fusion event, receive complimentary registration, and are eligible to receive financial support to cover some of their expenses related to their participation.
This award recognizes trainees affiliated with an FCE who are FOCIS members and attend the FOCIS U.S. Advanced Course. FCE Directors nominate their trainees for this award, and the FCE Committee selects award recipients on a competitive basis. Award recipients are eligible to receive financial support to cover some of their expenses related to their participation.
The purpose of the travel grant is to facilitate communication and scientific exchange among centers in the FCE network by providing financial support for collaboration and/or research-sharing opportunities. The travel grant is open to FCEs and FOCIS members only. For 2023, FOCIS provided two grants of $1,500 each, supporting collaboration between two or more FCEs outside of the FOCIS annual meeting.
This award is presented to FOCIS members who are presenting authors of oral abstract presentations during the FOCIS Annual Meeting. Travel award recipients are eligible to receive reimbursement for up to $750 of their travel expenses related to their participation. Unless otherwise noted, registration expenses and poster printing are not eligible expenses for reimbursement.
FOCIS and the IUIS (International Union of Immunology Societies) Gender Equality Committee (GEC) are pleased to announce the recipients of the jointly sponsored FOCIS and IUIS GEC travel award opportunity for young immunologists in the developing world to attend the FOCIS U.S. Advanced Course. The GEC Committee does the selection of candidates, and the application deadline is November 1, 2023.
FOCIS and The Transplantation Society (TTS) will jointly provide two International Basic and Translational Science Mentee-Mentor Awards to attend the TTS 2024 Congress. The travel awards will recognize the efforts of young investigators who are advancing the understanding of basic and translational science. The award application deadline was April 26, 2024. The award recipients must be active members of both FOCIS and TTS.
