FOCIS External Meeting Support Policy

FOCIS is pleased to provide support to FOCIS Member Societies and FOCIS Centers of Excellence for activities and events, virtual and in-person, that support the following goals:
- Provide a scientific forum to foster the cross-disciplinary approach required to understand and treat immune-based diseases as the discipline of clinical immunology evolves.
- Advance understanding of the shared pathophysiological underpinnings of clinical immunology and the new therapeutic approaches suggested by these novel relationships, including the increasingly widespread use of biologics in therapy.
- Educate trainees, physicians, patients and the public in the discipline of clinical immunology.
- Promote the study of issues pertinent to public health, welfare and safety in the field of clinical immunology.

Promotional Support
FOCIS is committed to the promotion of the activities of Member Societies and FCEs as outlined in the co-marketing agreement.
- As a related event on the FOCIS website (www.FOCISnet.org)
- Provide Member Society access to post events on the FOCIS interactive calendar beginning in Spring, 2026.
- As a related event in quarterly FOCIS newsletters
- On FOCIS social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and BlueSky) up to three posts per event tagging your society OR resharing your posts to our channels.
- Forward a Member Society email created by Member Society to the FOCIS community (up to two per year). The forwarded email will include a statement that FOCIS is sharing this event on behalf of a member society.

FOCIS Endorsement
The FOCIS logo may be used by the Member Society or FCE in the promotion of the activity. The endorsement option is to be used in the following situations:
- FOCIS has not been involved in the planning of the event or activity.
- The member society or FCE is not charging a fee for attendance.
- The standard FOCIS policy is to charge a fee to non-members (and low-income countries as defined by the World Bank) and offer members complementary or discounted fees.
Financial Contribution
FOCIS accepts applications to provide funding for external activities organized by Member Societies or FOCIS Centers of Excellence. Member Societies and FCEs may apply for funding, up to $2000 per event. The FOCIS Education Committee will review applications for approval by the Board of Directors bi-annually.
Deadlines for Applications
- June 30 for events scheduled between January 1 and May 31 in the following year.
- November 30 for events scheduled between June 1 and December 31 in the following year.
Applications for funding that will be used for travel awards to support trainee and/or student participation in the event will be prioritized. Recipients of travel awards from FOCIS must be FOCIS members. [Student memberships are no cost. Trainee memberships are discounted at $80 per year. JOIN FOCIS HERE ]
